Coverage
Coverage you can inspect before you build.
The location, end point and outcome of every shot ESPN charted, with our xG (before 2012-13 only goals are located): the Premier League and the other four European leagues from 2012-13, MLS in 2008-09 and from 2012, the Champions League group stage and knockouts from 2012-13.
Each sportsbook's home, draw and away moneyline, goal handicap and total from 2017-18, about ten books per match from 2021-22 to 2023-24 and one or two since.
The Premier League, MLS, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Champions League, on the same tools.
| Dataset | Seasons | Volume | Status | Tools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Fixtures and results Date, stage, score, extra time and shootout, venue and attendance. | 2001-02 to current | Every match ESPN lists | Full | |
Lineups and box scores Formations, starting XIs, substitutions with minutes, and each player's goals, assists, shots, fouls, cards and saves; each club's possession, shots, passing, tackles and discipline. | 2001-02 to current | Every player in every squad | Partial Lineups from 2001-02 (MLS 2004). Full box scores from 2001-02 in the Premier League, 2005-06 to 2007-08 in the other European leagues and 2008 in MLS; before that goals, assists and cards are counted from the match events and the rest is null. | |
Match events Goals with the scorer and assister, substitutions and, from 2011-12, cards, for every match; from 2012-13 every shot, foul, corner and offside too. | 2001-02 to current | About 100 events per match from 2012-13 | Partial Cards from 2011-12. Before 2012-13 only goals, cards and substitutions. | |
Shot locations and xG Each shot's x/y, end point, outcome, body part and our expected goals. | Complete from 2012-13 | About 25 shots per match | Partial Before 2012-13 only goals carry a location (about 1,000 a season), so a shot map of an earlier season shows goals, not shots. | |
League tables ESPN's published table: official points with deductions, goal difference and qualification notes. | 2002-03 to current | Every season | Full | |
Odds Home, draw and away moneylines, goal handicap and total by sportsbook; opening and closing from 2024, the final pre-match line before that. | 2017-18 to current | About ten books per match 2021-22 to 2023-24, one or two since | Partial No lines before 2017-18; two books in 2017-18 and 2018-19, six to eight in 2019-20 and 2020-21, one or two since 2024-25; no player props. | |

Full detail in the data atlas. Sportsbooks: the books ESPN reports: about ten per match from 2021-22 to 2023-24 (DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM, Bet365, PointsBet and Unibet among them), then Bet365 with ESPN BET or DraftKings. No lines before 2017-18, and one or two books per match since 2024-25.

Why trust it
The parts of soccer data that take real work.
Scores are everywhere. Every goal checked against the result, shot locations turned into expected goals, and a decade of three-way lines by book are where shortcuts show.
Goals reconciled to the score
Of 5,239 Premier League matches from 2012-13 to 2025-26 with match events, the goals recorded for each side add up to the final score in all but four. A feed that repeated plays or filed another match's events under a fixture was caught this way, and fixed or dropped.
Located shots, valued
Premier League shots from 2012-13 to 2025-26 with their spot on the pitch, where they ended, the body part and our expected goals, fitted on the league's own history. When ESPN changed its coordinate frame in 2026, both were mapped onto one.
Three-way lines, by sportsbook
Home, draw and away prices, goal handicaps and totals from about ten sportsbooks per match from 2021-22 to 2023-24, fewer before and since, each stored separately with the no-margin probabilities and the result. In-play feeds and model rows are left out.
Tools
Every tool, and what a call costs.

Questions
The things people ask before signing up.
Is StrikerAPI free?
Every account starts with 500 credits and no card. Calls cost 1 to 10 credits depending on the endpoint, so 500 is a few hundred real requests. Paid plans start at $19/mo for 10,000 credits a month, and wallet top-ups never expire.
How far back does the data go?
Results, lineups and every goal run from 2001-02 in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Champions League (MLS from 2001, lineups from 2004). Every shot is located from 2012-13; before that only goals carry a location. Sportsbook lines start in 2017-18, about ten books a match only from 2021-22 to 2023-24 and one or two since; there are none before.
What is MCP, and do I need it?
MCP is the protocol Claude, Cursor and similar assistants use to call tools. Point one at https://mcp.strikerapi.com/mcp with your key and it picks the endpoint and reads the response itself — no client code. If you are writing an application instead, ignore MCP and use the REST endpoints; they are the same 17 tools.
Can I use this commercially?
Yes, inside your own product or model, within the terms. Reselling the data itself as a feed is not permitted. StrikerAPI is independent and not affiliated with any league, club or federation.
How current is it?
One update a day, at 6am Eastern, for every league: the last few days' results with lineups, box scores and match events, the next month's fixtures, a fresh price on every match in the next three days, and the tables. There is no live, in-match feed.
Where does the data come from, and what is computed here?
Fixtures, lineups, box scores, match events with shot locations, tables and sportsbook lines come from public ESPN data. Expected goals, per-90 rates and Elo ratings are computed here: xG is a location model (distance, angle, header or not), fitted on each league's own shots.
What are the rate limits?
60 requests a minute, dropping to 10 if your credit balance falls below 100. The limit is the same on every plan — credits, not requests, are the spend boundary.
